# Screening and reporting

> Understand sanctions holds and the monthly carrier filing.

## Sanctions screening

Immediately before a quote letter or bind is proposed, Underflow screens the insured's distinct legal and DBA names against the federal Consolidated Screening List through the trade.gov API.

| Result | System response |
| - | - |
| Clear | The quote letter or bind follows its ordinary approval and authority rules |
| Potential match | The quote letter or bind is held for a person, even if it would otherwise run |
| Service error | The incomplete result is recorded and the action is held for a person |
| Not configured | The action follows its other approval rules |

A potential match does not automatically decline the risk. It appears as a referral reason on the held quote or bind action. If one party is a confirmed match while another lookup errors, the match remains the overall result. Approving or rejecting decides that action; the next quote or bind screens the names again.

> Missing screening configuration is still reported as Not configured rather than a successful clear result. Confirm the
> integration before relying on screening.

## Carrier bordereaux

Underflow assembles a monthly premium bordereau for each program with ledger activity. The report is grouped by booking month and includes premium-bearing bind, endorsement, cancellation, and reversal rows. Premium, taxes, fees, and commission come from the premium ledger.

Each program defines its delay after month-end. A daily sweep files every due period and creates a sign-off moment on the Desk. Open the moment to review the stored report, download its CSV, and sign off.

See [Bordereaux and carrier settlements](https://docs.useunderflow.com/accounting/bordereaux-and-settlements.md) for filing states, period locking, sign-off, CSV export, and remittance.

## Agency controls

Agency licences, E\&O coverage, W-9 status, appointments, and tax details live in [Distribution](https://docs.useunderflow.com/controls/distribution.md). Appointment rates feed commission records and statements. W-9 and tax-ID fields feed the 1099 worksheet. Licence and E\&O fields remain visible but do not currently gate payment.
